1. What are the ages to be a BC Jr Cheer?

A: We are accepting all registrants in grades 1st through 8th, unless you are returning from last year and will be in the kindergarten this year.

2. Will returning cheerleaders have to purchase new uniforms?

A: Uniforms are included in the cost of registration. As a new squad this year we will all be getting new uniforms. This year's registration will include the following uniform pieces: a BC BEARS embroidered shell, a skirt, a pair of briefs, a pair of socks, a bow, a body liner, a pair of poms, your BC BEARS embroidered warm-ups (jacket/pant set).

3. How will the $220 registration fee be split into payments?

A: Registration will open on Friday May 19th. At this time you can pay the $75 deposit. On Friday June 16th our payment systems will request another payment of $75 (and the $75 deposit if you still have not paid it by this point). On Friday July 14th our system will ask for the 3rd and final payment of $70 (in addition to any other unpaid balances at this point). You can elect to utilize the 3 monthly payment option or split it up into 9 weekly payments or maybe paying the entire lump sum is the best way for you. No mater the option you choose, ensure your registration fee is paid before uniform fitting day. Any payments made after the final payment deadline will be subject to a $25 late fee.

*We will have our uniform fitting during the last week of July. YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO BE FITTED WITHOUT FULL PAYMENT OF YOUR REGISTRATION DUES.

4. What additional expenses can I expect?

A: This year we will NOT be including cheer shoes as part of the uniform. These will be an additional expense. They can range in price from $9.95 on up to $59.95. They can be purchased as a group to save on shipping or individually from any online cheer or sporting goods store.

Also, we will be holding fundraisers throughout the season to purchase the squad new cheer bags and PINK- poms, socks and bows for breast cancer awareness month in October. And most importantly cheer pictures and an end of season PARTY!

*This season we will have the cheerleaders voting on the new cheer bags as well as the pink items!!!

5. When and where are practices and what will they entail?

A: We will practice 2 times per week for an hour and a half each day. Practices will begin at 6:30pm and end at 8pm. For the start of the season we will be practicing at Schaefer Athletic Complex 9750 W Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80235. We will be outdoors and sharing space with football, soccer and a few other sports so our exact location at Schaefer is yet TBD. We will practice here until Daylight Savings and then we will move indoors to a nearby practice facility but our time slot and days will remain the same. Since we are sharing practice space with a few other sports, out practice days will be determined closer to the start of our season.

Practices- we will incorporate stretching, cardio and strength training into each of our practices. It is an essential part of our training. The 1st practice of the week will always be dedicated to learning new material. The 2nd practice of the week we will be split into the groups we will be cheering in that weekend and working on material specific for that weekend. In the beginning before games start both practices will be dedicated to learning new material and more importantly getting to know one another!
